The LGBTQ Center of Durham’s Host Home Program (HHP) works with transition age young adults (18-24 years old) who are experiencing housing instability in Durham County and the Triangle region.
During their stay in a host home, and as they prepare to stabilize into a permanent housing situation, young adults receive intentional, wrap-around case management services that connect them to needed resources in the community. Through our case manager, young adults will be directly connected to resources such as job counseling and assistance, mental health and health services, financial literacy services, and more. Young folx will also be supported through setting and pursuing education and other individual goals and finding community with others who have shared, lived experiences.
*This program does not offer emergency housing. The young adult intake process can take up to a month before a host home match is made.
